About

About the Fest!

You might be asking yourself "what the hell is a Natural Coast?" -  Well here we are!

The Natural Coast showcases and celebrates the wineries and winegrowers promoting environmentally beneficial viticulture, low impact winemaking, and socially conscientious business practices throughout California’s Central Coast. These producers make wine in a natural way, honoring the earth and forging a better path forward in the wine industry. Better vineyards, better wines, better Earth.

What does that mean? It means we’re inviting all the wineries we work with in our shop, Satellite, from our local (and favorite) growing region - California’s Central Coast!

Who Made All This Great Art?

Our awesome friend Brenna Quigley made the original core artwork for the festival! She's a brilliant geologist, podcaster, and artist! Check out her work here

We are thrilled to introduce the artist behind our 2024 poster, Remington Giannico. Remy is a dear friend, former Satellite team member, and local wine legend. Remy now works in Manhattan for Grand Cru Selections and spends his spare time cutting leather, exploring antique forms of art printing, and being a kitchen demon. The proceeds from this year's poster will go to benefit White Buffalo Land Trust

Founders

The Natural Coast Festival was founded and organized by Drew Cuddy, Lindsey Reed, and is supported by Satellite team. The wines and wineries featured in this festival are all friends of the shop and the majority have been featured on our menus over the years.

Lindsey Reed manifested this whole crazy idea! She's been in the industry for over 20 years but found natural wine after receiving her degree in geology, embarking on a mission to tie her love of wine and rocks together! She spent two years learning the winemaking process in Ballard Canyon with Larner Winery followed by a year converting a Santa Barbara vineyard to biodynamic farming under the guidance of winegrower Ryan Roark.
While educating herself in every aspect of growing grapes and making wine Lindsey found a home Satellite where her passion took off and her dream of The Natural Coast began.

Drew grew up on a conventional turkey & commodities farm in Canada. After migrating to California he fell for wine while helping his father launch an organic-focused wine import and distribution business. College summers were spent working with natural Italian producers, fully immersed. Back in LA, Drew fell into a role distributing wine, quickly ran off for a harvest in Sonoma, and finally, landed in Santa Barbara to launch Satellite in 2017. Satellite is a fully farmer to table//farmer to glass restaurant that focuses exclusively on naturally conceived ingredients. Drew is pretty sure the central coast is the greatest place on earth... he's 100% correct.
